hehehe what a way to put it cris! :) Thanks!

Love that shot too fidel thanks!

Too bad they don't seem to have any support from back home. They don't have a uniform that reflects the country, no names printed, no number, no flag or something of that nature like the other teams...

They did quite well too. I only saw the semi's though. The finals was yesterday. Not sure who won. I hope they did.

OT: the players from the philippines may be the fil-ams that competed in the last SEA games...they probably funded their own way into the tournament which is why they don't have uniforms and other stuff...from what i know the local volleyball association has no money and in fact is on the blacklist of the FIVB for not paying the award money in that last (2004) fivb event held in manila

sorry for the ot post

Heidi and Diane are indeed Fil-Americans. They are based in the states and play at the AVP tours all year round. They are called in by the Phil Beach Volleyball Federation when there are Int'l Tournaments to represent our country. The reason we are not in the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour is that we do not qualify for the Main Draw nor in the Qualifiying Draw. The girls need to earn more points in this event to make it to the FIVB World Tours...but as Hochi mentioned, for lack of funds (they need to pay for their own trips as our good Gov't will not fund it), they are not able to compete much... ergo cannot earn enough points. They will compete in the DOHA games though and made good use of this tournament as a warmup as some of the Asian Teams are here.

The Hongkong event is an exhibition game and was organized to generate awarness in Hongkong as they plan to bring the FIVB World Tour to Hongkong next year. I'm not sure though if the points earned here are credited....

sorry too for the ot post...just wanted to share some info.
