View Full Version : Help film camera battery
jic horrilleno 04-01-2009, 02:23 AM Hi all, I just got a Canon A1 and was really excited to shoot. However I found the silver battery PX-28 out of juice and tried to find a replacement for it to no avail.
Can anyone please help me out. Kindly direct me to a store or supplier who has these batteries on stock. Thank you in advance!
daniel go 04-01-2009, 08:48 AM You can just use a 4LR44 or 4 pcs LR44 and tape them together. This will work just like the PX28 :) The 4LR44 and specially the LR44/SR44 are very common and can easily be bought at watch repair stores, electronic stores or even DIY stores like handyman, etc.... :)

Thanks. Would you know where to get the 4LR44 ? (locally, of course)
Have tried 4 x LR44 in series, but these were too short in length, compared to the A544. Thus, there's slack in the battery compartment.
David Tong 04-10-2009, 08:48 PM 4LR44 and 4xLR44 aren't that different in size, you have to rig the edges to make it "fatter" in diameter, I usually just wrap several rubber bands to make up for the width difference.. I personally just roll some aluminum foil to make up for the height.
LR44/4LR44 are very common, you should be able to find them in photo developing labs and watch repair shops.

The LR44 is indeed common in Manila. But I've yet to see the 4LR44 in the shops.
Will work with 4 x LR44 and foil, for now.
