fidel_mercado 11-12-2006, 02:44 PM Thanks Cris, Jerome and Taks. The first was an alley-oop dunk, haha, the players here are awesome.
orlando_arcelao_jr 11-12-2006, 04:18 PM Those are fantastic action shots fidel! You really captured it well! :)
fidel_mercado 11-12-2006, 04:47 PM Thanks Orlando. I had fun in the process too. :)
Earl Gonzalez 11-13-2006, 06:28 AM Fidel, Nice series dude! :) TFS.
aly_yap 11-13-2006, 09:57 AM what were your settings here fidel? Where were you positioned?
nolan_empalmado 11-13-2006, 10:18 AM also, what lens were you using?
fidel_mercado 11-13-2006, 02:16 PM Thanks Earl. :)
Aly and Nolan: I was using my 20D with a 24-70mm Sigma 2.8 on Tv mode, 1/640, iso 1600, burst mode, AI one shot. I was positioned courtside, at the left or right side of the basket. Sometimes i would sit but I think the dunks were taken standing.
zandy_marantal 11-13-2006, 02:23 PM Nice series Fidel. The 1st one is just perfect. Pwedeng pang-poster.
I see a yellow cast in the photos though.
It must really be that dark there that you have to resort to ISO1600. Most indoor gyms are like that.
Thanks for sharing.
regards,
fidel_mercado 11-13-2006, 02:32 PM Thanks Zandy.
I was on fluorescent WB since the dominant light source was fluorescent lamps... Hmm, it wasn't that dark but I wanted to stick to 1/640 and lower ISOs made for underexposed shots.
brian_uy 01-04-2007, 01:19 PM fidel,
i think the background is more focus on the foreground especially at no.4 of your photo. that is the problem when audiences above are well lit. hard to avoid it.
tet bautista 01-04-2007, 01:21 PM i love the first and third pic! can be one of pba's import! hehe... :)
fidel_mercado 01-04-2007, 04:46 PM Good observation Brian. It's my fault too since I used Tv mode so the aperture was not a constant 2.8... So the DOF increased. And yeah, for number 4, it was a fastbreak play so I just pointed the camera and hoped for the best.
Thanks tet. :)
brian_uy 01-15-2007, 11:20 PM yeh, i know how you feel. ive been there. one more thing try manual once you get the metering (inside court) stick to it. so that you wont have a blur or under/over exposed photos. as lomg as you shoot from the court. shutter priority wont help you all the time. thats from my experience. =) cheers!
(OT=hope we can both take photos of basketball. where are you based?)
Yuri O. Oira 01-19-2007, 01:32 PM uy, at f/3.5 ok ang kuha mo ha at mabilis pa @ 640. ano ISO mo dito dre?
