Hey gang! I just moved to a new unit in the same condo I've been living in the last three years. It has this great, picturesque, almost wrap around windows.

I just discovered something. From my unit I can see BOTH sunrise and sunset!!!

Now I have something I look forward to whenever I wake up early and when night falls.

Leo

(P.S. This is the actual light I saw from my windows. Not much photoshop, just cropping for maximum effect)

@Leo

Does this mean your unit has at least 3 sides of the building or your unit faces the south and you jsut stick out your head to see both the east and the west?

Whatever your answer is, you're lucky to have sunrise!

that's something to be envious about. i chase sunrise and sunsets all the time.
now try catching different moods and seasons of the same spot. that would be a good collection.

Wow!
Is your condo somewhere at Ortigas? Crowne Plaza perhaps?
You're one lucky guy! :)

Leo, pleased to meet you here on the forum. Can we become friends? I'd like to be able to go up your pad and shoot sunrise/sunset too. Hehehe. =B)

For people wondering, my condo is at Paragon Plaza. That really tall building along EDSA with all the lamps, furniture, and chandeliers.

Before GA Tower was built, Paragon was the tallest point on EDSA. In fact, four radio stations are based here (notably Magic 89.9).

I live on the 27th floor. The view is breathtaking when you get to the rooftop (above the 42nd floor), doon, 360 view of Metro Manila!

Happy na ako sa view ko. I can see all the way from Antipolo (sunrise), Laguna, Sucat, all the way to Manila Bay (sunset).

What I have NOT done yet is celebrate New Year's Eve in Paragon. Couldn't because there's always some family event to go to. I can imagine seeing all the fireworks must be fantastic!

Pahabol pala....

@Tammy,

I actually have a Photoworks Class starting this November 15. Full class. :-)
Next one in February.

@Paul,
Hyperfocal not as useful here. Walang malapit na near subject. :-)
We need to do pala our shoot! Might finally have free time this December.

@Dindin,
I have a big L-shaped window, one facing southwest, the other southeast. So kita mo yung sunset on the edge of the southwest side, the sunrise at the edge of the southeast side. :-)

@Everyone else
Yup, I have a great unit. That's why I got it (medyo mahal nga lang!)

Also, a lot of people might not notice it, but these were shot with TELEPHOTO lenses, not wide angle. A common misconception is that landscapes are always with wide angle. Not true. Take Photoworks and learn more. :-)

Now, a lot of people seem to want to shoot the sunrise and sunset here. I'm open to bringing all of you guys up to the rooftop and shoot at your heart's content. My only request is one time big time, parang mini EB (wag paisa-isa pls!).

Also, the sunrise and the sunset, although most of the time are great, are not always as breathtaking. So minsan suwertihan din. That sunrise shot was extraordinarily beautiful because of the blue tones and the shocking orange rays. It's not always like that. :-)

So if you guys want to do this EB then pili na kayo ng PS. For sunrise, get ready to shoot at 5AM. For sunset, get ready to shoot at 5PM. Game ako!

Leo

P.S. One more pahabol shot before I go. This is an old shot from my old unit here, which only faced east (just the sunrise).

P.P.S. So guess... is this wide angle or telephoto? How can you tell? :-)
