View Full Version : Veil

Veil is one of my most favorite element in a wedding. If you're asked to draw an image of bride in 5 seconds, a simple girl in veil would do it. Whenever you see a veil, you immediately think of a bride.

Because veils are made of light, thin cloth, it flows smoothly. In a recent thread Bride's walk, most shots are enhanced by the veil. Like thi one...

But you can do so much more with veil.

Veil flows like air or water. Even with harsh light, it create stunning texture.

Because of very thin and transparent characteristic, it create additional texture in the image.

A lot of designers spend so much time to embroider the veil, might as well show that work of art.

It a good alternate for portrait. With and without veil.

It's always interesting everytime the groom go under the veil. A sign of submitting himself to the bride perhaps. :)

An alternate to flying veil.

Most wedding photographers ask their assistant to throw the veil in the air to simulate a big wind. I'm one of them. You'll see that shot everywhere. :)

Always on standby with light. Once it hits the veil, most likely you'll get beautiful shot.

Nice set Master Dino! Thanks for sharing! We are learning a lot
from your posting. Now will be more conscious with the movement of the veil
and will try to capture it. Thanks again!

Hi Dino,

Might be hard to post some shots here... we are like ants compared to your elephant. I'll try to find some though but I'm sure it won't be as good.

Dino, those were great shots. Too bad here in Canada veils are not long as the ones there in Philippines.

Here are some of mine...
