And nikon does not have any good-selling and popular point and shoot camera right now. Nikon needs to bring the point and shoot crowd to their DSLR market where they have the upper hand. I don't know if Nikon is. If this is really cheap, the 400D will have a run for its money. The G5 was one of the best of its class. Any feedback on the G7? David Tong 11-09-2006, 08:46 PM A lot of folks are complaining about the lack of RAW in the G7, bulk of Canon discussion in dpreview is on the G7... G-series has come a long way, yet it still has that classic look and feel to it... Mike Punzalan 11-09-2006, 10:24 PM canon has been removing raw which was in its older point and shoot models and has been creating below par powershot G series cameras lately. They are afraid that these features on their high-end point and shoots cameras might cannibalize their entry level dslr sales. other high end point and shoots have raw but canon does not include it in its high-end point and shoots like s3is and g7. with nikon d40, canon should start getting back in shape with its high-end, point and shoot cameras, and start returning in serious features they just removed.
