My friend says the reason he charges that high is because he is already earning a lot from his business (not the wedding photography) that taking him off from that to cover a wedding will cost him that much in terms of his non-wedding photography business.

Same reason why company executives fly in helicopters to go to a meeting. Even if helicopters are expensive, their time is worth more than that than getting stuck in traffic.

Did I explain it properly? Mukhang nahilo ako eh...

I think you explained it well Marco. The expense of your friend when he covers a wedding is at par with the expense of "leaving" his business (and thus losing money) for a day or two.

I personally met Gary Fong in OC.. Really cool guy I think. The guy's work is good but not the best out there. Hes just awedome with his marketing skills. You guys should read his and Mike Colon's www.mikecolon.com (http://www.mikecolon.com) success story too.

If I have the money, I'd get Joe Buissink... He's probably the best fotog out there, and his price is not this excessive...

Gary Fong is ok... But I think he's not in the shortlist of the top wedding fotogs out there...
