Please advise. :) Nick_Espino 11-07-2006, 06:17 AM I have 2 of them and I use them almost daily. By far, my most favorite camera, ever. You can find them at around $750 in good condition. Jerry Sagmaquen 11-07-2006, 06:51 AM if you opt to sell one of them, please pm me : ) what is the best lens for this? and where is the 750 ? raymund_madronero 11-07-2006, 06:56 AM Being a film user, the F5 is very much my workhorse compared to the F100... Oh, btw, saw an F5 being sold at ebay.ph for 40K. Louieescobar 11-07-2006, 07:36 AM I can get it here for $450 in very good condition. paolo navarrete 11-07-2006, 07:40 AM the price on ebay is $500-800. its still the best for film unless you want the f6. but why this camera? you can go for a more affordable but almost as capable f100. for the same price you can have a 2nd hand dslr like a d70. paolo navarrete 11-07-2006, 07:49 AM take note: i have a d1 and its a cross between an f5 and f100 (more like and f100 with the f5's big 'butt'ery pack.) the body has a rubber cover. i bought it off ebay. it works perfectly but the rubber has peeled off, was glued back on, and has now expanded. a camera guru told me to shave some rubber off and re attach/glue the rubber covers. if you have sweaty palms, you'd better get a glove to soak up your sweat. the rubber of course should not affect the overall performance of the camera but you might get irritated with the feel. Nick_Espino 11-07-2006, 09:46 AM if you opt to sell one of them, please pm me : ) what is the best lens for this? and where is the 750 ? Thanks for the offer Jerry. Actually, I would get a third one if I see one in mint condition. The $750 price is the average that I've seen at B&H and KEH. Ray_Garcia 11-07-2006, 02:01 PM I used to own one, wished I didnt sell it. The only thing that really bugged me was the body rubber cover which always peels off. jerrytieng 11-07-2006, 06:15 PM I have a couple of F5's if anybody needs one. :) Melvin Vivas 11-07-2006, 06:19 PM I have 2 of them and I use them almost daily. Are the professional photographers there still using film or they all have gone digital? Let's say in the Fashion and the Advertising industry. I just want to prove an assumption an acquaintance is telling me. Nick_Espino 11-08-2006, 10:49 AM A lot of us in advertising doing a lot of studio work are still using a combination of film (medium and large format) and medium with digital back, but most of them are using digital for personal work. I still prefer using my F5 more often than my D70/D200 for my personal stuff. My wife says I shoot film because I like the smell of chemical. :D Melvin Vivas 11-08-2006, 11:03 AM A lot of us in advertising doing a lot of studio work are still using a combination of film (medium and large format) and medium with digital back, but most of them are using digital for personal work. Interesting. I wonder what's the workflow. The F5 really rocks. I've seen photos taken with this camera and I'm impressed. For personal work, I think it's more than enough. I have a friend who still uses film and his next target is the F5. He refuses to go digital because most of his works are for personal consumption. Probably he also loves the smell of chemicals. hahahaha :D Jerry Sagmaquen 11-08-2006, 08:19 PM I have a couple of F5's if anybody needs one. :) how much will you be willing to sell it? :) Anderson Tan 11-09-2006, 02:17 AM We still have some F5's on 50% sale.
