Just wondering, if you always use full manual (exposure, white balance, focus, etc.), does your camera's battery life improve since you no longer use the sensor's computation?

I've been getting a lot more shots these days with my S40, but largely because I've finally grab hold onto noise reduction software allowing me to bypass flash and use high ISO...

But I haven't touched AV/TV/P/Auto/Scenes the past 3 months and have noticed my battery last a lot more shots than before.

May correlation ba?

I'm not sure with P&S cameras but with DSLRs it would make the batteries last longer if you focus manually as the autofocus draws its power from the camera's battery. If you turn off the previews it would save battery. I shoot mainly on Manual shooting mode but I haven't noticed a longer battery life when shooting this way.
