the 20d with kit lense is only 52,000 while the 30d whith kit lense is 68,500 ...which is better?

from my understanding they have the same sensor, but the 30d has a lot of functions u might find useful...

if memory serves me right it has a bigger lcd, picture styles and the 9 AF points? :)

although i'm sure the 20d can still hold its own pretty well

Hmm, I think the 20D also has 9 AF points but does not have the spot-metering feature of the the 30D. Andrew has pretty much summed up the main differences. :)

get the 30D you wont regret it. its an upgrade to the 20D.

slightly OT, hi arlene, what type of images can be taken from the asean summit? that's in cebu this december right? other than documentary, are there like events similar to a festival?

30D for me... though i only got to use my friend's 20D sparringly. :D

Since they're from the same product line, the latter model would be better.

I suggest you wait a few weeks. Prices should come down some more. Here in the US, there was just a recent price drop. The 400d went on sale for around $550 and the 30d was just a little over $1k (bodies only).

I got to hold both cameras. kala ko hindi ko kailangan ng 30D but the 2.5" LCD screen is alone worth it. Plus the spot metering, picture styles, etc... :)

If you can afford the 30D, buy it. One of the coolest features not yet mentioned here is the current ISO setting can be seen in the viewfinder.

30D hands down...
if you want to a battery grip, the 20D and BG-E2 (same grip also for the 30D) had some problems which may require you to bing your camera to Canon for some adjustments...so far for the 30D none such problems with the same grip

i'm a photographer of manila standard today cebu based...all of the news coverage i will cover ,.from the rally outside and the forum inside ..imagine para akung one woman show:Grin: i will be wearing business dress while shooting the rally outside:Dum:

all news and business coverage only in asean summit no festival.

get the 30D if you can, you'll eventually look for it if you go for the 20D :)
