in most DSLR forums you can find a sales corner from members for member playing both sides of the field with want and sales ads......something i have not seen here....
do you have one here in this forum?
if not maybe the admins should think to open one..... especially for us who live in the philippines, certain used equipment is hard to come buy..... ever tried to buy here a 1,4/55 tomioka lens? or just something simple like a rear cap for M42.....or a body cap for a pentax spotmatic......
ordering it from abroad adds a bundle for postage fees and also possible custom fees and sometimes the asking of the customs may be beyond the value of the item.... so in 2006 i abandoned a package because customs asked 7000 pesos for a actual purchase value of 3000 pesos only.....
all this can be a pain in th ass and it would be nice if this forum would have such a space for us, to sell our used equpment and to find this or that to fill in some needs....
of course the forum could never be held responible for any sale gone sour.... also it is in our best interest, to keep it clean so somebody should be a member for a certain time span - maybe 3 month - before he can sell something....

I think it is an idea worth discussing.....

Hi,

As far as i know, there is no selling corner here.

From DPP Guidelines http://www.digitalphotographer.com.ph/forum/showthread.php?t=3892
V) No blatant advertising, spam, or solicitation is allowed unless approved by the Admin. You cannot use this site to promote and sell personal services. Posts that are not approved by us will be deleted.

This doesn’t mean that we will not post services here. Its just that you need to get approval before you do so and if we deem it a good service to the community then we will post it. Some members think putting something up for sale under their “signature” is not selling. In our eyes it is and we will delete the signature without having to inform the member. You may see though some advertising and promotions from our sponsors. We allow this since it is through their support that the magazine and this forum exist.

Thanks Matt for the link up.

As for Kai's suggestion, this has been discussed so many times before. Again, as always, the answer is no. This forum is not a marketplace. It's a discussion board for photographers. There are other venues to sell your used equipment, just not here.

I agree with this one, because i think when a marketplace is opened here, it will grow wildly uncontrollable and spammers and other irrelevant to photography will happen. It will just cause chaos to this peaceful and friendly forum.:)

Regarding this question, you can join the Digital Pinoy multiply group and marketplace is enabled there so you can market any items in the group.

that would be nothing but a question of control....

*approved members only, who have been members for some time and are also active, having contributed through discussion.... (a minimum number of postings should apply)

*trade forum invisible for guests...

*all post for sales need prior approval from the assigned mods.....

*only second hand equipment allowed

there are surely additional measures to keep a "sales corner" under control, which are currently not in my mind, but surely will appear with further discussion......

here for example a link to a german DSLR forum, where the trade is running smoothly, where only members buy and sell and that with a 140000 members......

ebay philippines or sulit are for real professional items not the places to sell for example a mamiya sekor 55/1,4 M42.......

IMHO, I still prefer DPP-online not having a Market place. :) The other forum can handle the marketplace for us Photo enthusiasts. :D

Yeah there are enough forums/sites here in the Philippines where we can buy and sell photography items. Lets keep this forum strictly for discussion of issues.:)

I agree on this. We should keep this site peaceful.

Starting a forum for the marketplace can crowd this site too much of the spam and fraudulent sellers. Besides, there are a lot of sites who offer buy&sell corners/forums.

It's really nice to have a site for us photographers where we can just talk about our hobby and our equipment...not to use this portal as a trading ground.
