I think the price of the canon 70-200 f2.8L would be 64k to 68k while the IS version would be 94k-98k not really sure about the price of the sigma

The Sigma is listed at 50,500 on JT Photo's web site.

you'll never go wrong with the canon 2.8...

just be careful with the sigma, i read that there are copies that has OOF sides..(either left or right)...

not an L, but still considered really sharp.

OOF = Out-of-focus.

I've owned the sigma before buying the canon. IMHO, go for the Canon to spare yourself from buying the sigma then selling it after some time only to get the Canon.

As for quality, the Sigma is a small bit warmer but the Canon is sharper and faster to focus.

OOF = Out-of-focus.

I thought OOF! was a sound you make when you realize you had a lemon lens. Haha!

have the same problem, i'm saving up for a tele also... but ibang iba talaga yung 70-200 2.8 of canon.. you'll understand why it's priced that way once you get to experience what it's capable of! i'd go for the L... :)

i have that particular canon lens with IS. absolutely loving it when taking portrait shots. it's one of my fave lenses. i don't mind the weight at all. when i see the pictures afterwards every peso is worth it.

this is what i was thinking.... eventually... all roads leads to an 'L'... somewhere... somehow!

so i'm saving up for a 70-200mm f/2.8L para no regrets in the end... :)
