In short, IMHO, this is as sharp as it gets, and the VR is no gimmick!

Good review on the new 105mm f/2.8 VR Micro. You've convinced me to spend $850 on a new lens... at least not yet anyway - It's on the wishlist. :Grin:

i know this is an old thread but i'm wondering: how far away can you be to take a nice macro shot of a bug with this lens? like a little beetle or something :) i'd like to have a little working distance so i won't disturb not-so-friendly bugs

My dream macro lens! Too expensive that I just settled for the 60mm F/2.8 :D
