:) That shows that this company has a vision and a mission that is in tune with the needs of photographers unlike some other company who's aim is only the bottom line.

Frankly, I thought Ricoh or Sigma would take a big bite on the "serious" P&S development category with the R series and DP series, respectively, but they failed quite miserably and glad to see Panasonic doing so well while keeping the cost reasonable.

I had high hopes for the Sigma DP1 but all reviews pointed out that it's really slow and jpeg wasn't that good. The Ricoh GRD series looks nice but a lot of people who have both the Ricoh and the Panasonic said that the LX3 is better so I went with it - no regrets :)

LX-3's are experiencing brisk sales locally! :) Every time I go to Digital Walker Zoom at Greenbelt 5 someone's buying one!

I think Panasonic's SLR-ish G1 is also quite revolutionary. Haven't read any reviews about it or how it performs though but I think Panasonic isn't only developing their PnS cams but trying to break into the SLR league as well.

Lei: True, but the G1 isn't that much different from the Oly E-420, for example, in terms of size and usability... They should start making the micro 4/3 look like classic rangefinders and skip the SLR look. :D

Panasonic has been very successful with their FX series. They're so popular that I've seen LUMIX point and shoots on a couple of Hollywood movies last year.

The black LX3 is always Out of Stock and Backordered at US online retail stores!

It even went as high as $699 at Amazon!
