Here you go guys and gals, DPP Issue #23. This issue we tackle different ways to shoot the Metro, from street photography, to cityscapes, night shots, and special locations. We also spoke to many different local authorities on what is required and how to go about shooting the Metro using your SLR. We would like to thank in advance all the moderators who took teams out on the City to help us compile this article.....Jerry Tieng, Derick Gamboa, Aly Reyes, Jay Jallorina, Joel Garcia, Randy Tamayo, Otep Benavides, Larry M Piojo, and Mitz Picardal. If I forgot anyone's names just let me know. Also thanks to all the photographers who attended each team leaders' EB.

This is a must see issue and no one has tackled entirely a subject such as this. As with other DPP titles, the rest of the magazine has loads of informative articles, tips, tricks, and techniques. We are at the printer and its also the holiday season so you all know how that goes. I'm sure though the mag will hit the stores before the end of the year.

finally received my subscription copy yesterday, and i must say that is one very, very good issue! a definite collectors issue (yet again?)! :D

the feature on shooting in the metro was very well-written, and very helpful for photogs like me who are now really looking forward to applying the different tips there.

i also appreciate your inclusion of tips from representatives of the different properties. talk about clearing up some misconceptions that have been spreading around different photography circles. though they all stated their openess to having amateur photogs take photos in their respective areas, my only concern is whether or not their policies actually reach their frontliners, or the security guards. hopefully what they say aren't just words.:Angry:

and to top it all off, congratulations on a very well-deserved award as the best printed magazine around! personally, even a good number of international mags pale in comparison to dpp!

Just got my DPP Issue 23 today, Jan. 15, at Fully Booked in Gateway, Araneta Center. The copies are still inside a newly opened box that was lying on the floor so I still had to ask the clerk if the copies were already for sale. When she yes, I immediately bought a copy; it's, in fact, the very first copy of DPP that I ever bought in my life.

When I reached home, I immediately opened it and I was so happy to be treated to a slew of stunning photos of the urban landscape, helpful tips on shooting and coordinating with authorities, and recent product updates.

My beloved Sony H9, which I "inherited" from my son, was among those featured in the Digital Cameras Buyers' Guide section. Which reminds me: I read in the dpreview very recently that the Sony had already discontinued the H9.

Best issue i have ever seen! Congrats to everyone.

I think the best solution to your predicament is subscription, Francis. Its easy, its cheaper and you don't have to look for it every month, its promptly delivered to your doorstep.

My god, man. My hat's off to you. And I'm not one to usually say that.

You guys really outdid yourself in this issue. This is the most comprehensive, most complete, most in-depth and best EVER guide in shooting Metro Manila in the history of, well, our country!!!! I can just imagine how much fun and how much joy it was to work on this project. It'll take years to top this one, and this will be the standard that everything to follow will be measured against.

This issue wouldn't have been possible without the help of the members of this forum. It was their experience that made up the main article of shooting the metro.

I got my first copy of my subscription last saturday. Very fast service. I deposited my payment last friday and talked to sir nino about the deposited amount. Then, the following day I received my copy. Huh, fantastic service and this issue is very excellent and interesting. A lot of tips coming from the gurus in shooting urban places. How much did you dish out for it? So you can't just go "hey i feel like going to the mall today. HEy nice stuff. Wanna take a picture of it." because you have an SLR? (What sad reality.)

Just picked up my copy of #23 Urban Expression at SM Manila, lower ground level where they have those wall-to-wall magazine displays. I saw #25 first and then asked the guy in charge if he had older issues, and that's how I found #23. And then I thought what the heck, I bought #25 as well. :)

On page 29, however, the photo by Randy Belen captioned as the National Museum viewed from across the Pasig River is actually the Post Office. There may have been an errata for this on Issue #24, if so, my apologies :)
