Guys need tips on how to shoot during indoor car shows. Using a d70s with 3 lens options a kit lens,50mm f2.8 and a 80-200 f2.8

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

For local shows, you won't need the 80-200 since the venue is usually really small. Just bring the kit lens and the 50mm f2.8.

a medium wide zoom lens will be more useful than telephoto lens.
i used my Nikkor 18-55mm 3.5-5.6 kit lens last Manila Autoshow, lens did good enough.

Guys I will be going to the SEMA show so medyo kailangan siguro to bring all my lenses sayang I might miss some shots becuase of limited lens selection ko.

Yes I know that's you. If that's the case bring all your lenses. If you can carry along your tripod, it would be a big help. The telephoto would be a nice lens for candids of the gorgeous models there are the show. According to my friend who went before, some of the models there are even Playboy Playmates.

archie, wag na tripod.. too heavy. if you must, just get a monopod. but most likely you wont be needing it.. just bring your 18-70, 80-200 (for the drifting events outside sema), 50mm 1.8 (bumili ka na dude) and also the 28mm that someone is selling on the buy and sell section. set ka na.

dont forget to bring your sb800 plus extra extra batteries..

Thanks for the inputs guys. I will try to get as many good shots as possible. I think I will be in panic mode once I start seeing all the subjects that I will be shooting during the show. I went there before but just had a crappy 2mp P&S camera which gave me about 20 keeper shots out of the hundreds I got. Hopefully I will get better pictures this time around.

sir, your kit lens would be the best glass to use for the cars...and 80-200 for the babes:) good luck and do share your images.

The US trade/car shows are starting to be no different from adult-movie oriented trade shows hehe.
