Not if you take real good pictures. It's like measuring your expertise through that, the better you get, the less you use photoshop.

Well it'll oil boil down to your purpose - hobby, business, profession.

Me, I'm a hobbyist. And photo processing is very NICE TO HAVE. Not a must, but very nice to have. My friend, a pro, Christian Halili, is using photo processing since this is his business.

My insight can also help (I hope) in choosing your camera (you might want to purchase one in the future).

I'm fond of making my 5 year old daughter as my subject because she's quite expressive with her face... or maybe it's just me.
