He said that if he wants a sold-out exhibit he should display his flower works, those that can be matched with the sofa and curtains of prospective buyers. But then again, would it be still be him?
The person went ahead with his own stuff and eventually had a good exhibit.

... and before you know it, you're making things for the money.

i have met people where they forget what they really want to shoot.. they just wanted to earn the money..

That's true cez.
Maybe that's why most of the pros that we know have their own personal portfolio. Their personal projects. Shoot their own style. Their own time. Their own right.

true!!! sometimes folios are way better than their work.. but sometimes.. you still see some signature lighting.. poses.. etc.. from their work which is really nice.

going back to the topic.. i think there are just a handful of people i know who love what they are doing.. like what they say.. best thing in life is you get paid with what you love doing. hihih.

Avery nice read indeed ms. Harvey....thanks for the link. This made me re-think my "retirement" plan. For sure I'll focus on what I love to do first....if money comes...great...it not....still great since I'm doing what I love already.

that's my fear as well. That turning my photog hobby into a business might ruin everything.

But somehow if I can make a business system around it that it makes me money without me becoming too involved, that would be best. that's what i am working on right now.
