welcome! a noobie myself here in DPP....aside from the suggestions here...my advice to you is explore, dont try to please others, although its ok to appreciate the works of the masters, but at the end of the day, if you're happy with what you're doing - thats what's important- and it wont hurt to earn extra bucks on the side :-)

This would be my first post and I hope there'll be lots in the future. I have known this forum for over a year now from my officemate, but was quite adamant to register for I have yet to purchase my first DSLR, but what do you know? The long wait is over, I just got myself a Nikon D40x Kit!

Although it is my first time to use a DSLR, my passion for photograpy have long been born since the advent of my inclination to mountaineering, outdoor sports and travelling. Since then, it has been my prerogative that the pristine beauty and cadence of the unspoilt places that I have been to should be immoratlized for mine and other's viewing pleasure. Also being a family man, I would want to keep memories of my family alive in immaculate form. I have been using any capturing device I own (P/S, Handycam, camphone) to achieve this goal, but now I am taking it a step further by owning a DSLR.

I hope to acquire some professional inputs from the masters in using my new toy, and hopefully be able to share the fruits of my labor as I get to know better my gadget.

I like the idea of a n00b photographers club. We can have a cool club siggy like the nocturnals. Hehe. Of course, it's not about the signature, but being able to learn and grow together with other beginners.

Hello DPP! I've been reading a lot of posts here and I'm still on the hunt for my first dslr camera. I have started reading the D5K club posts and this might be a good choice as my 1st dslr.

best advice is just to shoot and shoot... keep asking the good photographers for tips and keep inspired. Don't ever think you are good enough.

Woah! I found a place to introduce myself. My name is Manuel, I've been into photography for about 6 years now and still learning. (slow learning curve) Started out shooting with a Casio point and shoot, then caught the bug. Picked up a Fuji S5200 learned basics on Manual setting then decided to pick up DSLR. So far I've had my D80 for almost 4 years now.

I'm glad I found this place, I love seeing the tropical landscapes, the street photography, the insects from the Philippines. I haven't been there since 72 and I was a little guy.

My fathers birthplace is Cavite City, I'm planning on going up there for a few weeks with my dad sometime next year. Gonna be good to be back If only for a fleeting moment....

I just bought my DSLR last Oct 30 its a Canon 550D. Salamat at my DPP pala. I have already read some opinions/tips and tricks here and honestly very helpful sakin lalo na pag bago lang sa photography. Keep posting mga sir. Thanks

Hi guys! Sherwin here & currently an OFW here in qatar, & planning to buy my own DSLR this year (hopefully a 600D). We own a CASIO P&S cam where my favorite model is our baby girl since it's not my career but planning to make it as a hobby.

It's nice to know a place or site like this,where one can learn basics from the masters & win a friend.

I'm new to this forum but I've been reading threads and posts here for months now.

I'm from Paranaque but currently based here in Japan.
I love street photography.

My first camera is the Casio Exilim (forgot what version) several years ago. Followed by Canon IXY 10.
I got my first serious camera three years ago, the Nikon D5000. Bought some good glasses (fast zoom and primes).
Sold the D5000 and upgraded to Nikon D90.
Realized that the D90 is too heavy for my everyday street photogaphy.
Bought the Fujifilm X100 which is my always-with-me camera.

ive been in photography for just over 2 years now. self taught and it wasnt event my first love. i bought a (rebel 1000d) DSLR cause i thought id need it for school. i didnt end up pursue the schooling but kept the camera.
ive been obsessed since. buying the 50 prime 3x (cause after all, they are cheap) and a couple other cameras in circulation including a point and shoot canon s95 and a rangefinder minolta hi-matic 7s.
i dont even pay attention to my main passion (which is drawing) nearly as much anymore....hence signing up to this forum.
i dont ever plan on taking up photography as a career but i will forever love and learn

am a noobie in this hobby, but want to learn for personal growth n satisfaction. a friend suggested me this site.....presto!!! Found the right place. Got my own slr cam out of curiosity, just to be in maybe but as i manipulate my unit it developed into a hobby and got interested to learn more. but due to work pressures, learning time was set aside.....hoping to learn from you guys.
