I am a native born Capiznon. In fact, my parents are still there in Roxas City, the capital of Capiz. We celebrate the Halaran Festival during this time of the year. It is somehow patterned around the idea of the natives giving gifts to the discoverers. Sorry, I was absent when this was discussed in my history class so I cannot elaborate further as much as I would want to. :Grin: Another event that we also celebrate is the Diwal Festival where everybody feasts on this one of a kind sea shell.
