View Full Version : Aswang Festival
Gutsy Tuason 10-19-2006, 11:25 AM For all you vampires out there,
There will be an Aswang festival on Oct 27-28 in Capiz. Should be interesting and I heard thru the grapevine that the Davao dracula will be the master of ceremonies.:RedEye:
Pilar Tuason 10-19-2006, 11:31 AM Hey gutsy, Capaiz or Capiz? Davao Dracula just got himself a new cape too!:D
Gutsy Tuason 10-19-2006, 11:33 AM capiz, near roxas city, no need for airlines info as most attendees will flight there on their own wings
nino_carandang 10-19-2006, 11:34 AM Crazy. I heard you'll be there to pare.

ann_francisco 10-19-2006, 01:23 PM So what happens in an Aswang Festival aside from the whale sacrifice?
taks paler 10-19-2006, 04:00 PM i think aswang festival is almost the same as the sinulog festival, parades etc etc with scary but colorful customes..since we know capiz as a haven of aswang theyre trying to change that and making it work to thier advantage...:)
Mon Corpuz 10-19-2006, 04:16 PM Oh, I thought Aswang Festival is in Sequijor. Capiz is a beautiful, serene province according to my friends. Hopefuly I can visit the place once.

nap_alcedo 10-19-2006, 04:53 PM Hey guys. I am a native born Capiznon. In fact, my parents are still there in Roxas City, the capital of Capiz. We celebrate the Halaran Festival during this time of the year. It is somehow patterned around the idea of the natives giving gifts to the discoverers. Sorry, I was absent when this was discussed in my history class so I cannot elaborate further as much as I would want to. Another event that we also celebrate is the Diwal Festival where everybody feasts on this one of a kind sea shell. My city is really the seafood capital of the Philippines. It's one place worth going to. Btw, I am a certified aswang. He he he.
