Mga Sir,
Where can I rent lenses for my D70s. I am going to shoot a wedding of a friend and I need a zoom lens. What lens do you recommend and how much is the rent for lenses nowadays. Thanks.

i doubt kung meron nga sa pinas ng ganyang service, masyado yatang risky. pero ok sana kung meron nga. i rented one L lens (24-70) dito sa singapore and brought it there for a week. kinakabahan ako the whole time kasi baka masira ko o magasgasan. kaya hayun 2 days ko lang ginamit....it cost me mga P3,200 for 10 days.

Dito sa US, marami rentals especially dito sa NY area. You can rent everything. Lenses, flashes, cameras (even the new ones and even medium format with digital backs), light stands, and what have you.

You might think it's a risky business for rental companies. But it's not. For everything you rent, you have to have a credit card on file with a limit that can cover the retail price of everything you rent. They block that amount already so that you cannot use it anywhere else. When you return the stuff, they unblock the amount.

One good thing about rental companies here is that if you rent on weekends, they consider it as a single day rental. In the place I rent from, you can pick it up as early as Thursday afternoon and return on Monday and it's still a single-day rental.

I wish magkaroon din ng ganyang business dyan sa Pinas.

This lens rental thing/business might start sprouting out like mushrooms once camera gear insurance here in the Philippines reaches maturity... Just my 2 Yen. :)

I have several lenses (sorry only Canon and Hasselblad) and other equipment (Broncolor flash systems, etc). I am willing to contribute for joint projects or collaborations around Metro Manila.

The guy actually uses converter lenses for his P&S... It kinda squashes the idea of an all-in-one cam if you still need to use CL's just to get a particular shot... Another void argument... tsk tsk tsk...

I just started my rental business. But my stuff is pretty limited. I am still searching for a business partner who is a nikon user... let me know if you want to join. This is a good business especially if you want your camera to rest for awhile.
