hi guys,

i'm a newbie on the board... fairly new at DSLR... been a P&S user for quite sometime before jumping the gun on a prosumer digicam and now with my DSLR.... just wanted to share first few shots from my 350D and kit lens.... hope you like it.... comments welcome...

Catchy title there. :) IMO you can soften the light from the flash a little so that it's not too harsh on the shine; it tends to make the image look flat though the subject was clearly separated from the background.

thanks for the comments earl! was just using the stock flash with my 350D... :) but yes i think softening the light would have made the pics better... now as to how do i do that... that's what the internet is for! :Grin:

With the onboard flash; you can soften it by placing your ordinary bond or oslo paper infront of the flash or you can use the old opaque pringles cap. HTH :)

Try using a film container of Fuji (the transluscent one) and cut it so you can insert it horizontally to your stock flash. That will diffuse some light from your camera. Works like a stofen.

I sometimes use white tissue paper. Sabay diretso sa toilet. :Scared:

Also try to put a warm tone in your photos para pang starbucks ang dating. I think it would help convey your message. The photos look cold, which I think, is not what you want to show. Porn is always hot, right? Teka tama ba basa ko sa title mo? :D

thanks melvin... but just how exactly do you put a warmer tone in composing a shot? yup you read it right.... its espresso porn! :) (good analogy about porn=hot) :)

Try a warming filter that you can attach to your lens. Or you can try to set your white balance to flourescent so you'll get warmer colors.
