im thinking morbid today. im sick and had a bad dream. i dreamt that i am that character from the movie Jumper.:D

to set the little segue aside, i tried playing around with this birdie photo. i wanted to make it look like it's going to make suicide. but i'm no good in post processing. i wonder if anyone can share his/her talent and create a drama in this dull photo. and if possible give a little info on the post process work flow.

Anyway, here is my "try". Photoshop with Curves, Gradient Map, photo Filter. Sharpen. about 5 min. over 15 layers.

Played with it using Photoshop. What I did was basically, desaturated the image; adjusted brightness/contrast; adjusted shadow/highlight; added noise; added vignettes and sharpening through USM.

withg your guys' indulgence, i tried my hand on the photo. so here it is:

In Lightroom:
recovery = 100
fill = 100
contrast = 100
clarity = 100
vibrance = 100
saturation = -75
adjust the black/exposure as you please
add a lens vignette

Then in Photoshop:
USM 18-40-0
USM 150-.3-0
Edit>Fade USM 100% in Darken Mode
USM 150-.3-0
Edit>Fade USM 50% in Lighten Mode

The workflow is a collection of techniques from other masters. Thank you guys.
