went to the Porsche Roadshow at Clark, it's supposed to be a driving clinic with porsche instructors teaching offroad, slalom, city driving skills using ofcourse porsches! sayang i didnt register coz i had to go home by lunch time and the clinic has a whole days worth of activitities lined up (they also had a YOU CRASH, YOU BUY IT POLICY hehehe)... so i just took some pics, which was my primary concern anyway heheheh

It was fun. You get to trash their cars in slalom, panic braking, oversteering, and off roading in lahar. I actually won the slalom competition:D :D :D

No pics of the crash? I heard someone slammed a 911 into an island or something.

Not during the day I was there. The Porsche roadshow started thursday so it might have happened before saturday. I doubt it, though. All the cars Porsche brought in from Germany were still in one piece when we got there.

I think it happened during the day the media was there - Thursday or Friday. :D

The cayenne off road trail they had was great. Going over lahar mounds, driving at a 45 degree angle, turning off the traction control and sliding that mother sideways. That last one was not part of the program but some of us did it anyway.

You're right. It was a writer for FHM magazine that crashed a Cayman. She apparently wanted to hit the brakes but hit the throttle instead. The car went over the concrete dividers, which were about 12-18 inches high and destroyed the frontal section of the car. Also, all four tires burst.

Actually, FHM should shoulder the cost. They sent her there.:)

It was actually a Boxster S that she crashed. Not a Cayman. The concrete divider is not 12-18 inches high. Its just a curb thats around 6 inches high. The car did go airborne though. No, the tires did not burst.
Both driver and passenger were unhurt. Not even a single scratch.
Brent_Co 10-17-2006, 02:11 AM Enough of the bad news, on with the photos.

Just relaying what people said who saw the accident. I wasn't there on that day. You probably were since you're part of AutoIndustria:)
Brent_Co 10-18-2006, 03:58 AM Just trying infuse some first hand info as a witness to the accident. She was actually part of our group and we all missed out on our 3rd heats.
Its actually Autoindustriya John, without the "y" is the Spanish site which we incidentally went online with at about the same time.

Oops. My bad. AutoIndustriya:) Hesperus would have loved to be there.:D Got any more shots of the event? If you have some of the off-road section, that would be great. I didn't have time to pull out my camera during that part of the drive.

Sayang Bro. If I was there... You could be the one shooting while I was the one trashing... oooops... driving the cayenne. :D hahahahahaha

No harm done. A lot of people misspell it anyway. Hesperus will not love it because he's driven in the 'ring' already. And he already has a GT3 and a RUF RT12. The cars of the roadshow would all be nonsense to him.
I didn't bring my camera for that part too. Tried to enjoy the driving in that part. Although I got my share of scare in that part when the lady driver was the one driving. I thought we'd roll over when she went over 45 degrees, which was the limit. This is all while driving with one hand only. Goes to show that she really wasn't paying attention in the pre-drive orientation, which explicitly said to keep both hands on the steering wheel. Oh well, at least I came out in one piece. hehe.

I have to say though, that the Cayenne is one really smart vehicle. Hanep talaga. Leave it standing on an incline and it won't fail you. On a downhill, it drives itself down slowly. Galing talaga what the Porsche engineers put in it.

I'd love to have that car in my garage but my bank account won't permit me... Oh well... :D hahahahahahaha...
