guys, any suggestion how i can remove the dust sa sensor???
TIA alpha users! :)
Jan Michael L. Dayoja 07-21-2008, 10:59 PM hi arlex,
the best way you can do is to take your camera to the Sony Service Center.. i think they might clean it for free if you still have your warranty..
or you can also buy a sensor cleaning kit and just read and follow the instrctions carefully to avoid damaging the sensor..
MichaelLangner 07-21-2008, 11:04 PM If it's on the viewfinder and NOT the sensor (it shows up just by looking through the VF, and not on the pictures) then you shouldn't be cleaning your sensor. :)
You can try to clean the focusing screen (it's at the top of the mirror chamber). But realistically, if it's not affecting your pictures, just ignore it for now. :)

Michael is right, it might be on the focusing screen (the mirror that flips up) it dosent affect your images, but if it is bothering you then tried cleaning it iwth a blower, but be carefull not to hit the sensor.

Cool! i wish i could update too, its too hard here in MTL to work on sony alpha DSLR ( but still i choose SONY!) Many competitors like canon and nikon which is more common and popular. Too hard for me because only 2 store i can rely on here. One is sony retail store which kicking my back off for the price, and another one is camera store which is so so cheap! so cheap that most of the sony lens can only get for special order! (takes 1-3 weeks)

Why not order from the USA sites?
David Tong 07-22-2008, 11:05 PM Or SG/HK, the prices are a lot more competitive...

Not SG. Not SG at all (we order from HK too, bro)

Well most of the store if the US that i saw (EX. B&H PHoto and Camera Land, which is located in NY) their price is not too far from the store here http://www.lozeau.com, its like 20-30$ less difference. But + the shipping and handling fee, seems like it would be the same as here. And besides i think its better to test it first before deciding it.
David Tong 07-23-2008, 08:24 AM Veering off topic now hehe. So Arlex, sensor or viewfinder?

OT: Am just curious, is there any harm in using a lens pen? would you guys recommend it?

They're actually ok, but I trust a 3M microfibre cloth more.

Darwin, Lozeau's prices aren't too bad, their selection isn't that great, but good nonetheless.
arlex_albano 07-23-2008, 11:56 PM guys sorry for the late response, medyo busy kasi sa work... :)
ive already tried to shoot with setting at f22. then i check the pic, it affect to the image, my mga dot syang maliliit.. :(
i check the sensor, actually my nakikita talaga akong dumi, hindi matangal ng blower ko...
TIA alpha user! :)
moiseslua 08-02-2008, 07:08 PM ^If you can notice it at f8 to f11 then the dust is quite 'big' - if it's still under warranty just send it in for sensor cleaning :)
arlex_albano 08-02-2008, 08:01 PM thanx moises...
ill check it first in sony phils, baka hindi covered yung sensor cleaning kasi i bought it from abroad..
moiseslua 08-02-2008, 09:29 PM Ok. I believe Jeff canvassed the fee before but am not sure if he posted the price.
Cheers
