hi desktop print gurus, we have a color laser printer in the office that supports both PCL and Postscript 3 Printer Drivers. i have googled the net about the main difference bet. the 2. Most people agree that PCL is good for text printing while Postscript is best for graphics printing.

yesterday afternoon, I printed 4 graphic posters in an A4 coated glossy stock laser paper (Colotech Brand). the default driver that is installed is PCL. I'm not satisfied with the printing. it's not as clear and as crisp as it should be.

too bad, i ran out of coated stock paper. i'm planning to buy another set of A4 coated glossy stock paper and test print it using the Postscript driver. what do you think? will this have a difference at all?

thanks for reading ... :)

Is your postscript a geniune adobe postscript or just an emulation? Adobe postscript is A RIP postscript but if it is not a RIP but only a Driver then it is an emulation. PCL is an RGB printer driver Adobe postscript is a CMYK
