I'll try,

Photojournalism - media commissioned practitioner, loves beat assignments and hostages taking scenarios. Police station bummer.

Freelance - Same as starving artists.

Advertising - Budget! Location, Preprod! Shoot! Baril!

Photography is a hobby, a craft, a profession, a passion and art that is not for all.

Let me start with the basic meaning of photogragphy “The art or practice of taking photo” based on Dictionary.

So if I will define photojournalism, it is the act of taking photo that informs the people about what is happening around you. If a journalist reports of whats happening..then the photojournalist capture what is happening.

Art Photography…I guess if until now its hard to define art because it’s a never ending discussion…maybe I will define it as an adjective for expressive photographers who experiment on capturing a image.

Freelance photographer…a photographer who is dealing with different clients, companies and so on. Making his photography as his source of living.

Advertising Photographer works most of the time with an agency for advertising. Photography that deals more with a concept based from the idea of selling or promoting something.

My Photography:

“Capturing simple things that reminds us of traditions, culture and history is a great satisfaction. Discovering meaning from simple things around us is very mysterious but fulfills thy inner soul. Sharing these vision to mankind becomes a mission.”

“When I bought my first camera my primary mission was to take photo of my works and projects. Later as I read and learned more about photography my passion towards it start to build. Admiring the works of photography masters like Man Ray, Edward Weston, Cindy Sherman, Joel Peter Witkin and so on broaden my knowledge on how I can express myself with a camera. Experimenting on different styles, philosophy and other techniques developed my process to be expressive in photography.”

“Now my camera became another media of my expression from a small can in the desert to the skyscrapers in the metropolis. Everything around me speaks for something. I try to discover what it’s meaning and share it thru photography.”

“It’s a never-ending exploration for me as I try to find new ways and continue experimenting till I satisfy my own soul. I hope someday to master my own craft and share it to mankind.”

Oo ba... pero sali ka rin sa Ati-atihan (Kalibo) and Dinagyang (Iloilo) photo contests... I'm from Iloilo, so I will be island hopping comes January 2007. Sama daw lahat sina JunT, Ferdie, Cristo, Oning, atbp. So I guess we'll see you there!

We're off to Yanbu-Rabbigh-Medain Saleh by next week... so watch out for our great photos of these wonderful and historical places in Saudi Arabia... that is if we survive the shark dive in Yanbu at hindi kami ang kainin ng mga pating!
