A piece of glass of my Powershot Pro1 that got chipped off last night. The worse part about it is, it's right smack in the middle of the frame. The photog I assigned to the camera says she cannot remember the cam hitting anything and always uses the lens cap during transport. The good thing is that this does not always show up, but when it does its really awful. Below are some examples :file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/VINCENT/Desktop/powershot%20ex.jpg http://www.ultraphotovideo.com/Galleries/powershot%20ex.jpg

Does the lens of this camera chip off easy? Is there any way to get this repaired? I could probably still get by using it as a backup camera though, but its just really frustrating.

Hi Vince,

I suggest you bring it to the Canon Service Center here in Makati and have it checked. This is actually the first time we have encoutered this, since lenses of such cameras don't usually chip off.

Hi Vince,

This is sad. I also own a Powershot Pro1 ror 2 years. The problem I had with it was I lost the lens cap to one of my trip to Boracay. So for more than a year, till now I have no protection from the lens except to put the lenshood that came along with it. So far Hinde naman nachip off any part of the lens. I think it would be best to bring it to the CAnon service center.

I hope they can repair and fix it.
