View Full Version : Not enough DPP mags?

I'm not sure whether I'm just malas or there's been a photographers' boom lately but I'm really hard-pressed to find issues of DPP magazine. This Saturday I went out to get a copy of the coastline issue (and a few household items). I went to 3 shops in SM San Lorenzo - including National Bookstore - but found no copy. I then went to SM Manila but no luck either. I was going to try Robinson's Place but it was already raining hard so I just went home with just a few detergents at hand. There's no DPP either in NBS near our office here in Pioneer.

One time I was reading the cover of the portrait issue in the shelves of NBS Glorietta, some guy came by and reached for it. There was only one left, so before his hand touches it, I yanked the mag out of the shelf quickly then headed straight to the counter not looking back. (DPP guy, if you read this, sorry. )

OTOH I find that the other mag (trans: I-mag) is fairly ubiquitous. But I want a DPP!
:(

Thanks for the post Christian. I've explained this many times but since you are fairly new to the forum this is how it works.

We've gone the massive distribution approach at the start and learned that it does not work for our magazine. Why? Mainly because we're a premium magazine priced at P295. Not too many people in SM Lazaro will pay for the price of the mag.

We found that by focusing on higher profile retailers we maximize our magazine sales. So DPP unfortunately will never probably find its way into SM San Lazaro. We're mainly in the Fully Booked Stores, Magnet, Mio, MX, Filbars, Papyvore, and Bufini locations. For NBS basically anything on EDSA starting with Glorietta, Greenbelt, Megamall, Shang, Trinoma

I was at SM Lazaro yesterday and I saw several copies of DPP mag at the BookSale outlet. I think there were at least 3 copies left and it was already at closing time (past 2130). Maybe you can still get hold of the copy.
Good Luck!

Additional, I bought mine last Saturday at Gateway Mall, there's a magazine stand near Watsons. :)

To be sure i call M-express, the one that keeps flashing on the DPP portal. ALthough you have have to wait 1 day after calling and paying thru BDO. Beats the hell out goin to the mall and the parking, etc. I have it delivered at my office.
Addition to that i also got my back issues from them.
Hope this helps!:)

You should have gone to Rob place, there were some copies of the latest issue of dpp found at Booksale (ground floor near wendys and kenny rogers).

Thanks for the info sir. Now it figures. I'll be doing the EDSA route next time.

Why am I the only one having a hard time getting a copy? I guess malas talaga. LOL. I thought Booksale only sells old books/magazines. Thanks very much, will visit SM again later. I hope there's still some left.

Definitely  Save time, money, and gas and wait for the mag to arrive via LBC at home. I'm now less pressured to chase after which mag stand has it. BTW no one mentioned it's cheaper too when you subscribe for 1 year.
