Yes I know its kinda sad compared to most birds posted here :D But its the only nice one that came out and i'd like to share it.
Earlier today I woke up extra early to get to shoot some squirrels here in our village but they were too far and suddenly this bird landed in front of my spot, so why not right? :) When I got to laguna (for school) i tried to capture some owls and some ravens i think, but they were too far and before i could take any shots they'd fly away.
lens was an 80-200.

Any C&C would be welcome, also need help on choosing which edit i did would be better :)

Nice one Marton. I personally like the very first photo, yun smaller than the rest. I find the colors more natural or realistic :)

I like the very first photo, the one that wasn't cropped. But among the ones edited, I choose the first one. Natural-looking! :)

i see. it's very similar to the birds (woodpeckers, according to the local birdwatchers club) here in my neighbor's tree that i've been practicing with, i just don't know how to attach the picture i took. (i'm just a little over 3 months into this hobby and this site has been a very big help).

Earl : The bird in the photo of Marton is called a Eurasian Tree Sparrow. The bird that you posted on the other hand is called a yellow vented bulbul

i've been following the birds threads here. was in UP this morning and saw a lot of egrets (the small migratory birds that the guy from birdwatchers club said came from china). he was telling me to go to that big pond in UP, but don't know where it is. perhaps you'd know, ms tina.

Very nice Marton. The first, though small, looks more natural.

Hey Tina, please enroll Earl & Raul in Birding 101...hehehe...

Hahaha ok lang tina :)

Thanks for the responses and comments guys :) I never knew it was called a Eurasian Tree Sparrow  Sali narin ako sa Birding 101.

After looking back at the pics I realized that the last colored edit doesn't look like it anymore haha, so ill stick to the first cropped pic and the uncropped pic.

After today i think i got my NAS back again... Hahaha i need a longer focal length lens or a TC :)

Raul : Naku, so sorry ha pero after I posted last night ng message ko, I went to bed na and my husband took over the PC kaya I wasn't able to answer your question regarding the directions going to hardin. Anyway, if gising din ako, I wouldn't have been able to answer your question din kasi all I know is that you make a right on a street before the oblation and then make a left somewhere. So sorry talaga.

Regarding the birding 101 thing.... Nakuuuuuuuuuu wala akong alam dyan - I have so much to learn pa. Magtanong tayong lahat kay Mr. Romy Ocon :) Eh kay Romy ako nagtanong ng lahat ng alam ko halos about bird photography eh.

tina: went there yesterday. we asked the guards for direction. a great place to shoot, but my daughter and i got there a bit late, around 11 am. saw some great-looking birds, but my photography skills were really soooo mediocre. will go there again for sure.

The "rarest" but most accessible Maya birds to shoot are the ones that took residence, and reared 2-3 generations inside the Powerplant in Rockwell. I've always wanted to shoot it, but they always seem to position themselves near a lady wearing skirts.

What is important is the enjoyment you get from taking/viewing those shots. Even if you get great shots, there would always be shots better than yours :~). Just enjoy nature and share.

Guys, I have created a web site to help educate our fellow countrymen about the maya bird.

Because what you see here is not a maya bird.

Please see:

http://www.philippinebird.com/

Please help spread the news, educate.
