Saw this at Ebay (http://www.ebay.ph/viItem?ItemId=170035381386)....

Seems like a good alternative to the expensive Pocket Wizard for amateur use...

Just wondering if anyone has used this and if there's a local distributor.

Thanks.

The cheapest I've seen is 1850 for a single channel, single transmitter, single receiver unit. The brand is Boling, and its in a shop in Hidalgo. I forgot the name though.

No feedback yet because I wasn't able to buy then when I got confused with the size of the PC-sync jack. It turns out it should work with most PC sync terminals of most flashes that have one. (I use sunpak 383S)

those that are sold in hidalgo come with 2 jacks (one is for the big size)

you can also look for the ones in ebay (soldby gadget infinity) that are directly connected with the camera's hot shoe and another one for the flash's terminal. (no need for pc-type connection)

i've used the ones from china, both from aperture (single channel)and avenue (4 channel).. they are ok naman, tumagal din ng years. but i think i was the lucky one, kasi the others i know nasisira agad. plus minsan ayaw talaga mag fire, medyo erratic.

now i went pocket wizard (plus) and its basically same as those cheaper ones pero longer range and sure shot everytime.

so if you just gonna use it minsan minsan lang, go for the china brands from avenue. but if you gonna use it heavily like me. then pocketwizard from aperture is the way to go :)

I'd been eyeing the Pocket Wizards for some time already... sadly, I can't justify the cost...

Haven't seen the ones being sold by Wilson... will try to drop by one of these days...

Thanks Kai.

hi kai, are those china-made triggers that you used require pc-connection?

aris, they use the regular sync socket.. very similar to the one pictured above.

raymund, it took me awhile to decide on the pocket wizard system due to cost din.. but after many missed shots and frustrations, i decided to give it a go.

i've seen shots of lito sy using pocket wizard and nikon SB flashes.. very cool setup :)

thanks kai.

Aperture has some new products under evaluation, priced between the China ones and PW. May still take a couple of months before it is released.

Hi Jun,

If I may suggest, why don't you get those being sold by Gadget_Infinity at Ebay? With those low prices being quoted at ebay, something like 5-6k pesos for transmitter and 3 receivers, am sure many amateurs will be flocking for orders.

Its not the price, its the quality. There are many sources of these units at cheap prices, but sometimes you usually get what you pay for or even a lot less. As Kai has mentioned, he got one of the earliest units in the country, he was one of the beta testers and sad to say, it only reached the testing stage. So another round of testing.

Thank you for the enlightenment Jun... shows only how much Aperture Trading cares for their customers. And I salute you for that.

Indeed, it would be easy to bring in new products and sell them like hotcakes but eventually to be plagued by complaints regarding performance and even service issues...

I will wait when your tests come out well...
