Has anyone tried the Kaya Optics PF4 X-Ray filter (http://www.kaya-optics.com/products/experiments.shtml)? It says it can enable any digital camera to see thru dark clothes. I know you guys are experts to can you see if what they say is true?

Thanks

Tantin
(fiendishly planning on getting one if its true)

yep it's true. a friend of mine had it. you can find a few in ebay but i believe they're at a premium since they don't make it anymore and it's a tad hard to find.

Actually, you can use even the Hoya IR filter. This would work though with videocams with the Nightshot feature. :) Even the normal nightshot feature without the filter would work in bright lights.

Now, behave. :)

you can see a lot of the info on ebay.com. I learned about it when I was looking for IR filters. :)

Usually videocams and digital cams have lens threads in the front of the lens. This is the screw type lens/filter attachment. They have specific size, measured in millimeters. you can get one that fits perfectly for your cam, or get a larger one, and just buy and step-up or step down adapter. like 52mm-58mm. so you can use the filter for larger ones without vignetting.

in other words... just screw it on the videocam, and turn on the nightshot feature. :)
