Having enjoyed success for its single lens reflex (SLR) camera models, Canon Philippines is giving rewards to its most ardent users through its new Club EOS website (http://www.canon.com.ph/clubeos).
The website is exclusively for Filipino users of the Canon EOS camera, its most successful line of sub-professional to professional cameras.
Users must enter the serial number of their EOS units, regardless of these being digital or analog.
None-EOS users can also register but will not be eligible for most of the services offered in the site.
Canon Philippines EOS and Professional Video Products Officer Tiffany Shau said the website is currently in its early stages but will eventually have a rewards system wherein registered users can collect points by posting on forums or uploading photos taken with their cameras.
"As they collect points, they can use these for discounts when buying new parts for their cameras" Shau said.
Shau noted that the website currently has 400 registered users but that this is expected to grow in the coming months as the company introduces the website services.
Although there are no accurate figures as to the exact number of EOS users in the Philippines, Shau said it could be more than 6,000.
"But we'll have more users especially since we've introduced a new model, the EOS 400D, and it's selling pretty well," Shau said.
