hi! good day! I'm new here also in this hobby/profession. I just bought my cam last march (as a birthday present for myself hehe) and Im getting addicted to photography and I'm trying to incorporate it with my job as a web designer/graphic artist.
I just want to share some of my practice shots with my 1 yr old daughter in B&W.(what's the correct term in photography monochrome? hehe) Lots of questions in my mind.. ex. do I really need to apply some post processing on these photos etc..
Hope I can also get some tips from professionals here. Looking forward to all your C&Cs Thanks!
pictures were resized and reduced the image quality to 60

You might be shooting a little too close here, the shots are a bit overwhelming. Try to pull back a bit and get her full face in the first 2, you have a beautiful daughter, show everyone how cute she is! Looks like you are using a flash, try underexposing the flash a bit (turn down the output), or bounce the light for a more softer effect.
I too love shooting my kids, they make the perfect model cause you never know what they will do. Overall not bad for a practice shoot, keep shooting !

hi! sir! actually I forgot to set the flash exposure comp. that's why I blocked the flash using my hands! (I don't have a diffuser) haha. I was planning to put a bond paper on the flash... will it work?
thanks for the tips!

Hi JC,
I think bond paper would work. Tissue would work too. I've used a sheet of Kleenex before as a diffuser for my pop-up flash. Definitely an improvement over direct flash.

I think your shots are a bit close. Try to improve your framing.. do the rule of thirds on the eyes. and one more thing, add a bit of contrast here.
