i currently use a 350d. would like to bring this down u/w. would you be familiar which housings are best? i've come across ikelite, sea&sea and fantasea brands. but not really sure which one is most reliable.
what do you normally look for in a housing?
thanks.

Hi Rey,
what I look for in a housing is one, being able to access all the functions of the camera underwater, two - that it is a mechanical housing and three - what the hpousing is made of. Currently of all the manufacturers that produce the housing for the 350d your best bet will be to go with the Sea & Sea
cheers,
Gutsy

i suggest you consider housings made of aluminum instead of polycarbonate. they are more durable plus they look much cooler:) consider the aquaticas or nexus. by the way ive seen a few used subals in ebay

rey, carlo is right except i don't think nexus makes a housing for your camera. just swithch over to nikon bro, keep away from the canon light.

although you mentioned canon, i believe olympus has an olympus dedicated underwater housing for its SLR series, such as the new E-330....
noticed that canon and nikon don't have specific underwater casings for their DSLRS...or am i mistaken?

Hi Randy,
Nikon or canon do not make housings for their DSLR cameras. These are camera companies and they would rather let other companies develop housings for their cameras. I don't know of any pros using olympus for underwater shooting. I would stick to either canon or nikon for underwater and get a housing from either Aquatica,Nexus,Subal,Sea & Sea and Seacam.
