On the contrary, a wider aperture and tighter crop might alter an otherwise strong message of the photo. The composition works for me. That is just me.

You have captured the mood, great! Ok composition. A monochrome might be an option and color the subject but with a bit of opacity. A bit blurred background might also work. Just my two cents, TFS and good luck :)

1. The concept is old, hence, you need to show a picture that is "new" to hold attention. 2. Compositional elements are distracting and needs to be more cohesive. A circular composition converging on the main subject might improve it. 3. Be conscious of the colors you use in the photos and how they relate to the message.
