Hi Terry, if you are looking for a budget, better get the sb600. it's faster to recycle, a little smaller than SB800. I'm happy with SB600.

I have both, i agree the SB600 more than cope with most of mys hoots. I do use the SB800 for CLS to trigger my SB600 and in situations where I need a longer reach.

Since you're in the process of saving Terry... Go for the SB800 nalang! You'll enjoy it's greater versatility later. :)

Question:

Does the SB-600 also have a tilting/rotating head as in the SB-800? (bounce effect)

Thanks

Malayo talaga itsura wise yun SB800 sa SB600. The SB800 looks more durable and well built plus SB800 is Made in Japan while SB600 is Made in China. Siguro you'd want to consider that as well.

Pwede ba lagyan ng extended battery yung SB600 gaya ng SB800?

Thanks.

hindi po nalalagyan ng extended batt yung sa sb600.

but i think you may rig it like so: http://www.flickr.com/photos/82879958@N00/212018804/

caveat! Do this at your own risk. may fry your speedlight.

Another question: Can I trigger the SB600 using a flash trigger?
If ever I'll be using a D50 (w/out remote commander) can I use a flash trigger to remotely fire the SB600.

Thanks.

As for the DIY battery pack, no thanks =) he he he

I think it can using the SU-4 mode. sori never really used an SB600, I've tried it on my SB 26 and SB800 and it works :)
