just for fun guys! if you had a million bucks to spend on canon equipment - just that, what would you get??

mine would be:

1Ds Mark II - around 450k
on it would be: 16-35mm f2.8 L - 68k (hidalgo)

1D Mark II N around 230k
on it would be: 70-200mm f2.8 L IS USM - 80k (hidalgo)

other lenses would be:
24-70mm f2.8 L - 68k (hidalgo)
15mm f2.8 fisheye - ???
580ex flashes (x2) - 40k (hidalgo)

total sum of my purchases will be around 936k w/out the fisheye pa :)

I'd probably just get a few lenses, perhaps a 24-70mm and 70-200 2.8, a bigger bag, and then go on a trip.. :D I've always wanted to go to europe and take pictures..

and then kung may sukli, maybe the 1DMkIIN.:)

haha okay that made me think also.. sige i'll just get a mark II N with a 70-200 2.8 on it, a 5D with a 16-35 L on it and use the remaining money to bag a flight to afghanistan, lebanon or iraq.. my dream places to shoot :D

nice try sir neil, but i don't think any canon user would trade their cams for any of those! maybe unless you give them a deal like a 3 for 1, which they will gladly accept in order to upgrade to a 30D or 5D hwehwehwe! peace! :)

I'd spend close to half a million in Canon's best primes (ok plus one zoom) and put the other half in the bank until they release a 22 megapixel full-frame dslr plus other future goodies in their upcoming lineup :)

and a zoom: 16-35 2.8L

I'll buy a Leica M8, Leica Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21 mm F4, Leica Tri-Elmarit M 28mm F2.8 and get a 400D as my back-up with 70-200mm f4 L IS lens, 16-35mm f2.8 L, 50mm f1.2 L and 5 sets of 580EX flash with stands and attachments. I'll spend the rest on travelling to Europe taking photos with my Leica M8 and leave my Canon gears at home just for marketing purpose in case I get photo gigs here. He he he he.

If i have a million box, i will make a business to cater foreign and local photographers for location shoot around the Philippine Island. I will arrange everything for them and they will pay me, of course!

i would probably invest in special placements in those foreign banks
where it can earn around 5% a month, so thats 50k per month and stop working
and just shoot all day!....and still earn from it.

but i think i also like the big camera of tammy...

Yeah, the powershot can teach me alot when it comes to composition, and it can also help me justify if my photographs indeed standout and not limited to the equipment I use. :Grin:

I'd probably invest on a printer with the 1M. Or buy additional studio lights. Or maybe add the money to get me that beach house i've always wanted. :D
