View Full Version : Clones
rollyescobar 04-06-2008, 05:29 AM The picture shows the danger of cloning.... they can gang-up on you! (I copied this concept from my son..)

Nil_Angsioco 04-06-2008, 12:48 PM Cool! Wonderful concepts. Plus, the EXIF's are all intact. Is it always like that with Lightroom?
TFS. :)
Rafi Uy 04-06-2008, 01:12 PM The 1st pic really blew me away...your center pic really showed a lot of emotion...kinda reminded me of a certain initiation process I attended back in college....you really looked scared there Rolly :)

Alain L Aw 04-06-2008, 01:15 PM there's a flaw on the 2nd pic. The top girl's lower leg is missing. BUt still great work!
Rafi Uy 04-06-2008, 01:41 PM I think her leg is under the throw pillow :)
Vin DelaPena 04-06-2008, 02:30 PM here's a related thread on "cloning":

I think it's burried between the two throwpillows.
Impressive work!
Alain L Aw 04-06-2008, 04:05 PM haha onga noh. didnt notice that.
VIN - thanks man.
rollyescobar 04-06-2008, 08:54 PM Thank you all for viewing the pictures. I used GIMP to come up with the 'clone' pictures.
Alain,
1. Take pictures in manual mode. (Shutter - manual, aperture - manual, WB - set depending on your ambient lights)
2, I use LR to reduce noise and improve the photos. Make sure you process the pictures equally so that it is easier for the next steps.
3. Export pictures to a temp folder.
4. Open one picture to be used as background.
5. Open the rest of the pictures as layers.
6. Cut & paste. Flatten image.
7. Clean it up with whatever you are comfortable with. I used smudge.
8. Sharpen as you like.
9. Crop as you like.
My son did it with Photoshop but I am more comfortable with GIMP (it is also free).

To be honest, I wasn't paying much attention with the EXIF data. It is still intact maybe because I didn't modify one picture which I choose to be my background.

thanks! I did what you said but not on manual exposure. Used P mode and cut and paste, no flattening and sharpening. Im not very familiar with PS. Looks fake :)

RameloGusilatar 04-13-2008, 11:04 PM Now, this is a reason to reinstall "Gimp" again. Or probably download from their site the updated one. Thanks a lot for sharing this, cool thing to do!! Cheers :)
