Lei Sarmiento 04-02-2008, 07:03 PM Hi, the initial photo is good enough. The tone on the pp'd one is nice although it caused more noise apparent on the face of the subject.
Natural lighting used here?
armand_apuntar 04-02-2008, 07:16 PM Thanks Lei. Yes. Natural lighting. one gloomy afternoon. :)
seansabado 04-03-2008, 12:48 AM @armand_apuntar (http://digitalphotographer.com.ph/forum/member.php?u=2413) - the post-processed photo looks NOT good.
- skin tones
- artifacts / noise
the unprocessed photo is GOOD normal skin tones.
Rizel Oliver Jimenez 04-03-2008, 12:55 AM maybe a little skin smoothing (via clone, heal or Gaussian blur- personally, i like clone 18% repeat as necessary) on the lower portion of the cheek, on the nose and a bit on the forehead, below the eyes, chin, red bite mark on right arm, lower aspect of right arm...hihhihihi..OC mode :D
also...some brightness and contrast adustments at PP..then levels on the background to emphasize on the subjct..
i agree with the others..the tones on the unprocessed image looked better..
by the way, i tried to tweak the image using wat i suggested...if u like, i cud post it here or email to u..:D

Well, it looks good to me. I do agree with the noise that came out. Can you point out specifically the artifacts you're talking about? thanks for looking. :)

Hey Rizel! thanks for that. Can you please post here your pped version then pm me the workflow you used? I'll also try experimenting with your suggestions. Thanks again. waiting for your version. :)

armand_apuntar 04-03-2008, 12:01 PM Nice one Rizel but as others will say, the skin looks unnatural. too smooth. but of course my version is still over pp'ed. :D

I like this treatment, contrasts are high but still shows enough gradients, the skin looks nice and smooth just right, you can still see some texture, and colors are natural and subtly saturated...http://www.digitalphotographer.com.ph/forum/images/icons/icon7.gif
cedricvalera 04-03-2008, 12:27 PM For the second photo, the stray hairs are a bit distracting.

thnx...=) my sentiments exactly...:D
hmmm..i duno armand, i think i tuned down the opacity enough for the skin texture to show..hihihi..oh well..to each his own ei?:D
armand_apuntar 04-03-2008, 12:47 PM Hmm... sorry for that Rizel. I agree with bernie. The problem is my vision, when I put my eyeglass and took a second look, I saw the texture. :D
@cedric,
for the 2nd photo the stray hairs are intentional to show the windy situation. tama ba? :)

aw...hehehe..no prob..:D
hmmmm...2nd pic...didnt depict the windy scene quite well...probably because the only few of the hair were being blown by the wind? and those sticking on her forehead are distracting..:D
