I have been experiencing this occassionally with Smart bro connections. If your browser can access other sites but not DPP try setting your DNS servers to the following:

208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220

The above listed DNS numbers are provided by OpenDNS. There seems to be a problem with the name lookup from time to time.

I tried the DNS settings but to no avail. Other work arounds?

First of all, English only please.

Second, Smart connection is pretty screwed up, several friends of mine couldn't get into websites they frequent (not just DPP) but works if they go through a proxy like proxify.com, hidemyass.com, or any other cloaking portals.

hi mike!

er...i was kinda surprised to see ur topic in filipibno..next time, in english or you may get repirmamnded by the mods...

anyhoo, i've experienced the same problem when i used my cousin's pc which was on smart bro...but when i used my pc which was on cable connection, DPP showed up..

the only work around so far is to go through proxies...like page wash...

I had the same problem before using smartbro!

Go to www.opendns.com (http://www.opendns.com) and should resolve your issue! Give it a shot.

They're the same. Your browser can resolve the site with or without www and/or http://.

The complete URL should be http://www.digitalphotographer.com.ph (http://digitalphotographer.com.ph/forum/../)

im having the same problem... im getting intermittent connection to dpp at home and in the office :(

Dennis Magsajo

It seem to be DNS related, hence provider dependent. I can't access the site from home using direct connection (using Globe wireless), but can access it once i do VPN (virtual private network) to my office network. I am still experimenting on different DNS values (if this is truly the issue).

I reported to Nino my findings.

While the server can be reached (via Ping) and the DNS entries seems to be ok, when I connect via the server's IP, I get the Apache web server home page instead. Not the forum.

Why do we need to use proxy servers or opendns just to access the site?

most websites do not have this problem, any response from the admin?

might be OT, but related nonetheless...

i purchased a domain name for my business from doteasy.com.

the address is configured so that one can access it by typing either http://www.pixelworks-ph.com or simply http://pixelworks-ph.com

i'm accessing DPP w/out the triple W's, and i'm using PLDT's DSL plan.

thanks to everyone who replied to my query! i really really appreciate it! first of all, my apologies to the moderators for not having used english as the official forum language here. and second, to everyone who replied ... thank you so much. i think the use of pagewash and similar web sites now allow me to view dpp on my mobile. my wife was beginning to charge me a per/hour rate for using her laptop. (just in case your wondering ... i can view this site using her laptop and sluggish gprs connection ... but not with my gear!) she has pldt/smart and i use globe. anyway ... thanks for all the replies. i really really appreciate it! maraming salamat!!!

I was amazed it wasn't painful, and there was no blood, which I expected after my previous problems. I had the most intense orgasm, and so did he. He said sex videos (http://www.love-sex-videos.com) "you've never made a noise like that before"! In fact, I think I'm a lot more keen on it than he is!

I have an e-Mac and a Powerbook. My e-Mac occasionally cannot the site but when I turn to my Powerbook it's 100% accessibility. My PB uses Tiger and the e-Mac is on Panther. Now, is this a software or a hardware issue? I don't know but it is irritating at times. I have to open my PB just to log-in to DPP. BTW. I use Destiny cable internet.

Im suprise... :D to access dpp or other websites back home you will need a proxy sites... LoL!
I guess the DNS settings must be changes... or consult your internet provider...

I thought we only here from Abroad are using proxy sites liked www.stealth-ip.us (http://www.stealth-ip.us) to access blocksites.

I've changed my setting (for a week now) to OpenDNS but I still have problem accessing DPP in a 'norma'l way. It seems that my IP address has been blacklisted by this site for the reason I don't know. I have no 'normal' access to DPP 2 months now :( I contacted Nino Pasamonte twice already, one time to Nick Tuason and just a few minutes ago I sent PM to Nino Carandang. It seems that my email to Nino Pasamonte didn't reach him, the same thing happened to my PM to Nick. I hope my PM to Nino Carandang will reach him. Curently, I can only access DDP thru a proxy site hidemyass.com or other similar proxy sites. I can post in the threads and start a new one but could not post the images because it seems the message icons including the images posting icon are disabled. below is my email/PM to the two Ninos and to Nick: Hi Nino, I'm sending this email to ask for your help. I'm a DPP member (user name Nat Pagayonan) and had problem browsing the DPP site using my home broadband for almost 2 months now. I thought that DPP had a problem but I'm no sure what really is the problem. I used to acess DPP using by O2 broadband (BE Unlimited) without any problem. I'm based here in UK and my IP address is 93.96.228.83. I even contacted my ISP if they banned me from accessing DPP site but they said that the problem is not with them but on the site itself (DPP). So can you tell me what's the problem why I can't access DPP at home using my O2 (BE Unlimited) Broadband? I can access DPP site using the proxy server like hidemyass (http://www.hidemyass.com) but it won't allow me to log-in, thus preventing me to participate and post in the forum. I also thought that there was a problem with my laptop setting, but there's not because I took my office laptop at home and tries accessing DPP but I can't. The same with my pocket PC, three of them can't access DPP. My ISP customer service agent told me to reset my internet router but the problem still exist. I also thought that the problem was on the browser but I tried tried using Windows Internet Explorer (my default is Firefox), Google Chrome and Opera and the problem is still there. So I really think that DPP server may have prevented me to even browse DPP site. So could you please help me fix this problem. Thanks. Cheers! Nat

Same here. I can't access DPP at home for about 3 months now unless I use Pagewash. :( Good thing the net here at the office allows me to visit the forum "normally". :|

it doesn't work at all. the strange thing is...i can now log-in to DPP without using any proxy site but using only my PDA with Opera mobile browser...so browsing is still not 'normal' because the screen is only 2.8" and has 320x240 pixels. If use the standard Opera browser in my laptop, I can't view any DPP page. :(

ok, this is weird. after being unable to browse DPP normally for a few days, i get to do it now. i remember updating my Java software before trying to browse again. Could this be a solution? does having the latest Java software solve the issue?

Anyway, im thankful though that i can browse normaly now!

this also happen to me sometimes. there maybe a re-routing problem with the ISP.
i try to browser using IE7, Firefox3, Opera9 and Safari and its the same - cant access DPP.
i just wait for several minutes and can access again.

i think the problem is on the internet provider (base from experience). i have stayed in province for the last three weeks, we have to internet provider back in the rpovince, digitel and smart bro. our pc is connected to digitel dsl and i can't access dpp connecting through digitel and i tried it also with my friend's computer which is also connected to digitel but still i can't access dpp. then i tried accesing dpp through my sister's laptop (smart bro connected), it's a success, dpp works!

i think its on your internet provider, base from my experience.

How can I change my DNS Server? (#12703)

To set your DNS, you need to find the Internet Protocol window.

For Users on a Dial-up Connection:

Go to My Computer>Dialup Networking.
Right-click your internet connection and select Properties.
A window will open - click the Server Types tab. Click TCP/IP Settings.

For All Other Users:

Go to Control Panel>Network Connections and select your local network.
Click Properties, then select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Click Properties.
You will see a window like the one below - this is the Internet Protocol window. Select "Use the following DNS server addresses" and enter the desired DNS server(s) in the space(s) provided.

You have now changed your DNS settings. Click the OK button at the bottom of the window to close that window, then click the OK button at the bottom of the next window. If you are asked if you want to Restart your computer, click Yes. You are now finished.
