daniel go 04-04-2008, 01:29 PM David, Nice nice nice :)
David Tong 04-04-2008, 01:47 PM Scale focusing isn't that bad, 4 distance scales is easy to tinker...
bongmanayon 04-04-2008, 04:19 PM http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3039/2386902894_590a12e37c.jpg
Congratulations again David! I love this one ... 'naked lights' ... I get the point but it still makes me smile (bastus).
daniel go 04-04-2008, 04:31 PM Scale focusing isn't that bad, 4 distance scales is easy to tinker...
Yup, for street shots, you need to be real quick and that's where scale focusing comes into play :) just set the distance and snap :)
kimchan 04-04-2008, 04:34 PM nice dave... i like the elevated shot... nice colors too
David Tong 04-04-2008, 04:50 PM Thanks guys... http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a69/theveed/IMAGE_329.jpg The joy of gradual expense of film developing/purchasing... ahhh... (damn hehe).
Sonny Thakur 04-04-2008, 05:34 PM David, wait till you get to the hoarding part ;)
David Tong 04-04-2008, 05:42 PM David, wait till you get to the hoarding part ;)
Ahh... supplies are pretty steady on my end, and HK is just a phone call away to ask my sis to grab film so I'm cool with that (for now)... hehe.
joseph barretto 04-05-2008, 12:05 AM dave, how much did the tmax 400 set you back for?
David Tong 04-14-2008, 12:46 PM Seph: S$6.50 I think... BN400CN was S$5.50
DHL man says hello on a lovely Monday.... Sorry for the lousy DOPOD pics.
Pentacon Electra with 45mm 2.8 lens (Shutter doesn't return, so it's basically a BULB cam hehe, but the cam does require 2 AA batteries, maybe it needs that to work... We'll see tonight, got it for display only anyway)
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a69/theveed/review/IMAGE_333.jpg
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a69/theveed/review/IMAGE_334.jpg Aperture and focus guide under the lens.
Enough of that... Altissa Altix-N with 50mm 2.9 V Meyer-Optik Gorlitz lens. <b>Everything works so far... funky way to set focus, aperture, ASA, and shutter speed.

Now any ideas how to open the film compartment?
David Tong 04-14-2008, 12:48 PM In true home-shopping fashion... BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! What the heck are these things? http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a69/theveed/review/IMAGE_335.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a69/theveed/review/IMAGE_336.jpg Some sort of hotshoe thing in a leather pouch (even the pouch says Made in Germany), inside contains a sync cord. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a69/theveed/review/IMAGE_338.jpg What are these metal sleeve things? The fit a 4R print nicely, though... http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a69/theveed/review/IMAGE_339.jpg And a good-ol table tripod in a cracky leather pouch of its own... Tripod says "SUSIS"... The guy included 36 shots of negatives with various other old photos of Werras, Voigtlanders, Gugo, Petris and other strange looking cams...
daniel go 04-14-2008, 01:24 PM David = Addik hahahaha
David Tong 04-14-2008, 01:31 PM Hehe, gotta stop... Once I get an XA, I'll stop... (that's after the Fujica and Yashica comes in in 3 weeks haha)
daniel go 04-14-2008, 01:45 PM I have a XA and while it produces sharper images than the LCA I still prefer the speed of the LCA , maybe because I got such poor eyesight that I am having a hard time peering into the small view finder with the small RF patch :(
joseph barretto 04-14-2008, 03:53 PM my zenit 122 just came in today! will be needing some cleaning, but otherwise awesome!

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i149/josephbarretto/P4140011.jpg
hehe, but i dont think im gonna keep it though.
the 500-250-125-60-30-Bulb shutter speeds are too limited for me i think.
we'll see!

joseph barretto 04-15-2008, 03:58 AM http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3098/2413555570_584389bd89.jpg
how cute david!
David Tong 04-15-2008, 09:12 AM Strange time for him... He's used to DSLR-like features... He doesn't know how to use LCD viewfinders for framing (always looking for the viewfinder, he got irritated with our Lumix coz it didn't have one), but he's always looking for an LCD to view the pic after a shot clicks... so he gets annoyed with my film toys since they don't have one...
He owns the 10D now...
David Tong 04-15-2008, 11:03 AM Yey, found out how to load film and change lens...
Thanks to Simon from http://retrography.com for guiding me.

Hi seph, where do you have your cameras cleaned?
joseph barretto 04-18-2008, 05:12 AM Hi seph, where do you have your cameras cleaned?
used to be with mike santos in QC but now, i just bring them to Romy Suzara in Hidalgo or Kuya Dong. So far, pretty reliable people.
But of course, DO NOT LET ANYONE that you feel dubious about touch a camera that is worth more than his store's inventory.. if you know what i mean.
Derick_Gamboa 04-18-2008, 06:42 AM Hi seph, where do you have your cameras cleaned?
Ari, you can also try the services of Jesse Aberia of Columbia Cubao.
ari_velazco 04-19-2008, 01:15 PM Thanks derick.. i have a problem with one of cameras..somehow, i kept it too long inside my drybox with the level fluctuating from30-45%...probably too dry? now the shutter curtain is stuck... :( Thanks Seph and Derick...

yikes. what did you use for humidity in your drybox?
if you have too much silica gel, take some out. or did you use a de-humidifier?
anyway, im in hidalgo almost every saturday, so let me know. i can bring you to the repair people that i know.
David Tong 04-21-2008, 10:35 AM Arrived in 5 days...

daniel go 04-21-2008, 10:38 AM ADDICT!!!!! hahaha Congrats David :)
David Tong 04-21-2008, 10:59 AM It's actually a present to my dad who doesn't want to go digital, but if his eyesight can't hold up (MF), then too bad, I'll be forced to keep it hahaha.

David Tong 04-21-2008, 11:20 AM Either my dad or dad-in-law, and my wife just said "I don't think my dad would like that, too much stuff to press and turn"...
I said "OK, I'll shop for another one" hehehehe.

I use the Wonderful Drycabinet. its been sitting inside for months. I should shoot more often i guess...heheh
I might go there this week, maybe tom if schedule permits.... you recommend dong's, right?
David Tong 04-21-2008, 01:01 PM They don't like photography actually (well my dad did, 20 years ago), that's why these manual clunkers won't suit them (but I use them as an excuse for the purchase haha), now my wife is telling me to get my own cabinet for all these junk as I'm encroaching on her space in our dresser hehe.
Batteries, batteries, where to get them locally hehe.
