what's a "DR" Earl?
What's the advantage of this over the D200? I'm looking for a cheaper backup camera. My only "problem" with the D200 is the noise during long exposure.

i'm not Earl but i'm guessing Dynamic Range.

...how about speed? buffer upgrade ala S3? 6*6 sensor, sigh after all those years :Scared:

I am being tempted to buy the S3 because it's now just a thousand bucks here in the US, but from what I read here in the forums, it's kinda slow in writing to media even when using fast CF cards. I am planning to use this for weddings but with that in mind, I have to think twice.

Now, my questions is for this S5. Does anyone have any idea on the write speed of this new DSLR?

The FinePix S5 Pro will also introduce one particularly sought-after feature; the ability to record jpeg and RAW files simultaneously to the card. This will enable photographers to view and distribute smaller-sized jpegs, whilst retaining the ability to work on the larger RAW files later on a PC or Mac. Nikon body with a Fuji Sensor is really sweet! If the price and features are close to the D200, yes, I think this would be a best buy. And, the face recognition technology rocks! :)

Hmmmm, maybe this is the reason why I am not so hot in buying the D200. :)
