I learned photography with this:

My dad bought his in 1965--the year Minolta released the SRT-101--which says a lot about my dad, an engineer/techno guy who was into the latest and the best (except he was not really into photography). I would not really appreciate this until later (like I was 5 years old) when I found out it had all the bells and whistles that makes a complete SLR: DOF preview, MLU switch, self-timer and other stuff (more or less) that my Pentax Spotmatic or even the Canon AE-1 did not have.

Anyone else out there with their SRTs? :)

Nice camera! One time I was babysitting a friend's Minolta X700. I had just picked it up after CLA, and came across these 3 lenses is pristine condition:

Tamron 17mm/3.5 in Minolta mount
Rokkor 50mm/1.2
Rokkor 85mm/2

Mama mia, I've been scouring Hidalgo for almost a year looking for similar lenses in K-mount and F-mount. And here on my first day with a Minolta, I could have built a complete kit already.

Nice! I've got one too! Very nice camera indeed. But yours is a very nice example. Looks very well kept. Mine didn't hold out as good. But takes wonderful pictures still. Only got the F1.7 50 rokkor though. Congrats on this!

I recently acquired the same SLR, the minolta SRT 101. My Dad who passed away used to use the minolta way back before i was even born. Will post pictures later. It probably needs cleaning and checking because it hasn't been used in a while. I also have a Fujica SR 701. Where can i get these vintage cameras checked and cleaned?
