This seem like a shot from the book of insects -- like a stock photo, I felt that this is a shot from Discovery Channel [ although this is TV, the photo version ] ... can be used in channel captions. Why? Crisp-clear, life-like contrast, usual-magazine framing. Maybe a different composition can be appealing as well - probably showing the relative size of the leaf to the fly. [ IMHO ]

wow.... just wow. But im not an expert, and have no experience in macro shots. But i agree with Ramelo, looks like a stock photo.

Tack sharp and great contrast! For the Win man.

i purchased it online (lensmateonline.com) since my sister is abroad she brought the item back here.. it cost me $53~ w/shipping charge the adapter is around $26. they deliver items inernationally (shipping charge vary). I suggest you purchase everything u need in one website. :)

I'm not an expert on macro shots either... I think it's nice how the details of the eyes came out, but is the rest of the fly meant to be out of focus? Since the fly is your subject, maybe the whole insect should be equally focused. Honestly though, I have no idea if that's easy or hard to pull off in macro.

Just the same, TFS!

yup it will be nice if the whole image is clear, but when using macro the depth of field is rilly small. So you have to aim the DOF at the subjects eye or body. i use P&S camera s5is the smallest aperture opening i have is f/8 thats why its quite limited.so i should maximize the DOF and target my desired body part. :)

heres another shot. I focus more on the body rather on the eyes. i think the first one is better than this

Yup, the first one is definitely better!

Question, did you have the fly say "Cheese?"

j/k! I do admire the patience you surely put into getting those shots. Again, TFS!

hehe, other insects are snobbish but the pesky fly doesnt move much and i have lots of time to compose the shot:)

Transact with reliable stores/sellers. I always check their feedbacks. And Amazon.com is one of the most reliable online store, I have ordered several times with them.

What I'm scared of is E-bay. lot of scammers there. :D
