a couple of my friends went to visit the once acclaimed Manila Zoo.. upon arriving, eyebrows began to rise by the site that we were welcomed with... Most of you would balk at the photo, but i'm just trying to raise awareness among Forum Members, Animal Lovers and Conversationist alike...

It does have an open space to graze upon, but somehow it found solace behind its bars..

Yes, it is not good to see such condition and I wish they could go into the wild again. All my shots are 100% wild (and I think mostly on non-unionized birds)

she seemed lethargic at the time...
i'm pretty sure that guy's taking good care of her.. but the fact that John Chua had to adopt her could mean that the previous custodians weren't up to the task...
plus the bird cages as well.. most of them had a lesion on top of their beak just below their nostrils... one even had a missing eye...
i'm sure most of the resident birders here in the forum would balk at the condition they're in

I don't go there anymore... I want to remember it the way I saw and enjoyed it when I was still a child...

I wish that they do something for those poor animals there. What a miserable life they must have:(
