Eh?!

We've had worse political instability here and the factories still hum along making Timex watches, Sekonic light meters, Intel processors, Seagate HDs etc.

If there's anything we've learned is that business goes on in spite off political instability.

Nikon have a huge investment in Thailand. But most established companies will more likely to stay in times of trouble. But if worst comes to worst can we see... Nikon Philippines Factory?

I doubt it. China is cheaper IMHO.

Actually nobody quits Thailand they already had 32 coups since the 1960s plus the 1997 crash ...... martial law was declared and parliament was abolished nothing new to them as long as the king is not displeased .....

We can only hope! Working for this Factory would require more than manual dexterity and technical know-how... It will require alot of special training for special expensive equipment as well.:)

I agree with Gil.

The one thing that all Thais agree on is they love their Monarch. So no matter how many times the government changes, it's their King that is the unifying force.

Nikon Plant in the Philippines? Hmm, I guess the country has the expertise since the Pentax plant is in the Philippines (unless they've moved already).

Hi Earl!

FYI lang... I know of a company in the Philippines that actually makes satellite and missile guidance systems for rival countries! It's really amazing! A lot of telecoms in different parts of the world, such as Singtel, ZedTE source their microchips and components from Laguna.

Something we gotta be proud of, kayang kaya ng Pinoy!

Hi Edu! Thanks for the info. Bro. :) Yup, no doubt about it kaya ng pinoy yan... I just hope na hindi nila tipirin and well compensated yung mga employees. If Nikon does this here... WOW! Alot will benefit from it really!

All the best...
