What international brands are currently available here that presumably have service and expansion support locally from the companies that carry them?

Visatec and broncolor. It takes a while to fix because the hard to find parts are ordered from switzerland :(

There's an electrician I can recommend... he copies burnt out boards (in one case, a burnt "white lightning" strobe board) and can faithfully reproduce any imported strobe given the right materials (and a sample strobe to copy of course). He also charges quite low for such 'genius' talents.

ya i get my lights from aperture as well.. they now carry korean lights and so far so good :)
