i just got a bessa-L and 25mm f4 snapshot-skopar from ohba camera for roughly 30k yen.. talk about GAS attack..

there is no viewfinder in this thing.. but you can attach an external viewfinder.. and the focusing is just a "guesstimate".. but with the 25mm lens.. it will have enough room for DOF..

will test drive this thing tomorrow.. im trying a 1600 fuji natura for night street.. hope it comes out ok..

Congratulations!

You may find getting sharp photos easier than you may think. Scale focusing is not that difficult, especially with wide angle lenses. That 25mm has extreme DOF. In good light, you can set the lens to f/8 and the focus at 3 metres and everything from 1.3 m to infinity will be rendered sharp enough.

what a beauty. :)

at f4 and iso 1600 you might need a tripod/monopod unless your going to a very well lit street.

@charles
its fairly bright here in tokyo during nighttime.. so that would be around EV 5 - 7... i can underexpose for about a stop, since im simulating a "dark" environment.. no need to make it middle gray..

with that said.. i think i can set it around 1600 , f/4 and 1/60sec.. hope my calculations are correct.. hehe..
