Romy Ocon 09-17-2006, 10:16 AM Great captures, Reyno... good detail and colors! Just a constructive note.... I see a tad of "glow" on the first and third pics, looks like haloing from the Shadows and Highlights tool. You can minimize haloing by adjusting the radius and tonal width in the S/H dialog. I do it by trial and error, as the BG color has a lot of influence on the visibility of the glow and there is no standard R and TW for all situations. When I can't expose the shadow detail well with the S/H tool due to noticeable haloing, I switch to major surgery and utilize the following technique in PS CS2: 1. Make a duplicate layer. 2. With the duplicate layer active, click Select, Color Range, Shadows (this selects the shadows portion of the photo). 3. I then have a choice of which tool to use in lightening the shadows - Image/Ajustments: Levels, Curves or Exposure. I can also vary the effect by adjusting the opacity of the duplicate layer. 4. I then flatten both layers and continue with my processing....:) Romy Reyno Rosete 09-17-2006, 10:29 AM Thanks mcuh for the advise Romy. I'll definitely do that when I get a copy CS2 as I'm still using Canon's to convert raw and PP in an old copy of Elements.
